Biointerface group thematics
We combine biology and material science to address fundamental biological questions and develop new applications for translational medicine. We are interested in how surfaces and biological objects interact. This includes how cells sense and respond to topographical or biochemical signals present on the substratum. We also try to understand how surfaces influence the activity of proteins that are either grafted on the surface or in solution.
Our group is integrated in a highly interdisciplinary environment gathering chemists and physicists. This particular framework allows us to combine cellular and molecular biology, live imaging and biochemical methods to advanced material science techniques (3D microfabrication, surface characterization, plasma polymerization…).
