Description

The Solid-State NMR platform probes materials at the nanometer scale to extract local structural and conformational information. As a non-destructive spectroscopic technique, high-resolution solid-state NMR provides insights into the chemical environment of nuclei, crystallinity, the number and type of crystallographic sites, atomic connectivity, molecular dynamics, and surface functionalization.

The platform leverages both one- and two-dimensional solid-state NMR techniques, with access to national large-scale facilities (TGI-RMN) for ultra-high field measurements when needed. It isparticularly suited for the in-depth characterization of complex materials.

Available Measurements

  • 1D and 2D solid-state NMR spectroscopy
  • Analysis of atomic environments (¹H, ¹³C, ²⁹Si, ²⁷Al, ³¹P, etc.)
  • Chemical connectivity studies
  • Molecular mobility and weak interaction analysis
  • Monitoring of structural or functional modifications

Application Fields

  • Porous and mesostructured materials (zeolites, MOFs, clays, ordered silicas)
  • Organic-inorganic hybrids (Talc-Like Hybrids, organosilica films)
  • Polymers, composites, bio-based materials (cellulose, wood, inks)
  • Metal phosphates, coatings, and functional thin films
  • Surface and interface studies
  • Material development for energy, environment, and health applications
