Implant’s biocompatibility

Isabelle Brigaud, Karine Anselme

Our aim is to contribute to the study of the biocompatibility of silicone-based biomaterials, and more specifically breast implants, by studying the inflammatory reaction they induce through transcriptomic analysis of the fibrous capsules formed around these implants and through in vitro assays using inflammatory cells. Different sources of silicone responsible of the inflammatory reaction (release of surface debris, permeation of silicone oils) are analyzed.
