Biomimetic materials based on brush-like copolymers

In collaboration with colleagues from UNC Chapel Hill (USA), ESRF (Grenoble), and Moscow State University, we are investigating the structure formation processes in brush-like copolymers that exhibit biomimetic mechanical properties. By combining synchrotron X-ray scattering with in-situ stretching and calorimetric measurements, we aim to gain insights into the mechanical and phase behavior of these fascinating materials.

Advanced Polymer Systems for Organic Photovoltaic Devices

Organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices offer several key advantages, including their lightweight and flexible nature, which allows for integration into a wide range of surfaces and applications. Additionally, they are cost-effective to produce due to the use of solution-based fabrication techniques and inexpensive raw materials. OPVs also have a lower environmental impact compared to traditional silicon-based solar cells, making them a promising option for sustainable energy solutions. In collaboration with colleagues from the University of Strasbourg, ICPEES laboratory and the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research Dresden, our research focuses on unveiling the correlations between the structure and performance of the active layers in these materials.
