Description

The MTRA platform (Mechanical, Thermomechanical, and Rheological Analyses) is dedicated to the in-depth analysis and testing of materials to characterize their mechanical, thermal, and thermomechanical performance. Thanks to specialized equipment, it enables the evaluation of both dynamic and static properties of materials, with a particular focus on their behavior under various stresses.

Fields of Activity

Material analysis relies on a series of tests to obtain essential data for understanding their physical and chemical properties. The main analyses performed include :

  • Dynamic Mechanical Analysis : Evaluation of storage and loss modulus, damping factor, and dynamic viscosity of materials.

  • Static Mechanical Tests : Tensile, compression, shear, creep, relaxation, and tear tests to determine stiffness and elasticity.

  • Thermomechanical and Thermal Analysis : Identification of glass transitions, melting and crystallization temperatures, as well as degradation and oxidation phenomena.

Types of Samples

Through these analyses, the platform can characterize a wide range of materials, including carbon-based materials, polymers (elastomers, thermosets, thermoplastics), composites, bituminous materials, ceramics, and metals. These materials can be tested in various forms : films, cylinders, rods, gels, foams, powders, etc.
