Description
Areas of activity
The field of application of this non-destructive technique is very broad : catalysis, ceramics, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, paints, plastics …. . Within IS2M, it mainly finds its applications in the characterisation of carbon materials (from biomass or synthesis, meso- and micro-structured, hybrid, porous and non-porous), clays, organised mesoporous materials, zeolites and organic-inorganic hybrid materials of MOF type (Metal Organic Framework).
Main equipment (strengths of the Institute)
The adsorption platform includes four fully automated analytical equipment from Micromeritics, which allows physisorption of gases such as N2, Ar, Kr or CO2 textural characterisation (specific surface, porous volume, pore size distribution) of porous materials :
- ASAP 2020
- ASAP 2420 (2 machines)
- Tristar
