Description
The Adsorption Platform provides non-destructive, high-resolution analysis of material textural properties through gas physisorption techniques. It enables the measurement of :
- Specific surface area
- Total pore volume
- Pore size distribution
- Pore geometry
- Adsorbent-adsorbate affinity
- Isosteric heat
Application Areas
Suitable for a broad range of industrial applications :
- Catalysis
- Ceramics
- Cosmetics
- Pharmaceuticals
- Coatings and paints
- Polymers and polymer-based composite
- Molecular storage (energy, depollution, agriculture, gas purification,…)
- Recovery of by-produits (biowastes, energy production…)
At IS2M, the platform is mainly used to study :
- Carbon-based materials(bio-sourced or synthetic, porous and non-porous)
- Clays
- Organized mesoporous structures
- Zeolites
- Hybrid materials such as Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs)
Accepted Sample Types
- Dry powders(typically tens to hundreds of milligrams)
- Fabrics and organised materials
- Pellets (beads, extrudates,…)
- Films
- Monoliths
Samples must be chemically and thermally stable during degassing prior to analysis.
